According to Variety, the helmer has signed on to remake the Danish film with this gibberish-to-my-ugly-American-ears name (which translated would read The Island of Lost Souls) for Universal Films. Jennifer O?Kieffe has been signed to pen the genre-bender?s screenplay, which centers on a suburban teen who finds herself a central player in a centuries-old battle between good and evil, when her younger brother is possessed by the benevolent spirit of an 18th century magician. No, you?re not the only one who thinks that sounds bat-shit crazy, but apparently the original was one of Denmark?s highest grossing pics last year. This could get interesting. Stay tuned, folks?
