'Trick 'R Treat' Thrown Away for Good?!

If you haven?t come face to face with it by now then prep yourself for a meet-and-greet with the horror community?s village bicycle, Trick ?R Treat ? or actually, don?t. One of the most weirdly handled, enigmatic projects of the last few years, Trick ?R Treat's release has been on hold since Halloween of ?07 and still ? as we now approach Halloween ?08 ? has yet to lock down a date. In fact, according to CHUD, the project has been trashed completely by its owner Warner Bros. The trailers, posters, and stills released from the film have all looked quite interesting to me, so it?s odd that Warner wouldn?t just release it. This could be in part a product of the fallout Warner had with one of the film?s producers, Bryan Singer, over his underwhelming Superman Returns. Especially since Returns writer Michael Dougherty wrote and directed Treat. Who knows? The film is going to be looking for a new home regardless, so I guess all that can be said is good luck to Michael Dougherty and friends. We hope they get to treat us soon. The film, by the way, centers on four intertwining stories with sinister origins, all of which take place on Halloween.
