I know, I know. It seems harsh to call Spider-Man?s legendary arch nemesis a word generally associated with the likes of Beelzebub but this really doesn?t have much to do with ?ol Gobby. No, it?s gotta do with the man underneath the suit ? that scary M.F. Willem Dafoe! Dafoe has proven himself time and time again bad-guy-worthy material, providing the on-screen persona for the likes of the Gob-stopper in the Spidey films, a mentally unhinged Max Schreck in Shadow of the Vampire, and the main antagonistic force in Speed 2: Cruise Control (I am so sad that I know this?), but what will happen when the tables turn and Dafoe finds himself defending the honor of all that is good and right? Heck if I know, but apparently we?re about to find out. Word has trickled down (due mostly to our old friend-o Variety) that Big Willy D has signed on alongside hottie art chick Charlotte Gainsbourg for the upcoming psychological thriller Antichrist. The film centers on a couple who retreat to an isolated cabin in the woods following the death of their child, with Wilbur and Gainsbourg playing the aforementioned couple. Hmmm? a list of people I would not want to be alone in the woods with: Willem Dafoe, Willem Dafoe, Max Schreck (as portrayed by Willem Dafoe), Brett Michaels, and? did I mention Willem Dafoe? The film starts production this month in Germany under the helm of Lars ?It?s the Cannes Film Festival and I?ll Call Roman Polanski a Midget If I Want To? Von Trier, who is most famous for crying after Europa did not win the Golden Palm (though he did win Best Director honors) and then proceeding to call head juryman Roman Polanski a midget. Boy, and I thought actors were supposed to be the prima donnas?
