While there isn?t too much horror movie news this morning, One-Eyed Films isn?t letting that stop them from makin?-moves-a-plenty. The London-based production house first made headlines by coming to terms on a deal with the horror outfit Paura Flics on the international rights to Argentinean revenge thriller I Will Never Die Alone. According to Variety, One-Eyed plans to send Never Die Alone over our way in about October so look out for that. The flick, directed by acclaimed genre filmmaker Adrian Garcia Bogliano, is reportedly ?an extreme rape revenge thriller in which a gaggle of femme victims travel to a small town in the La Plata region to exact bloody vengeance? and is in no way exactly what you?d get if you just took the beginning of I Spit On Your Grave and mashed it with the body of Faster Pussycat! Kill, Kill!
Not only did One-Eyed pick a valuable asset, they also finalized a sale for a nine-picture deal with IFC on their property The Coffin Joe Horror Collection. Coffin Joe, created by Mojica Marins, will center on the titular character, a major icon of gothic horror in the Latino community. The property includes such popular Joe titles as Awakening of the Beast and This Night I Will Enter Your Corpse. The first pic in the series, however?which IFC is currently pulling together?will be titled The Bitter Garden. What?s the first one about? No one?s quite sure, but if you have an idea, IFC and One-Eyed have announced they will be seeking script input via the internet from Joe aficionados. So if you think you know how they should kick it off, check out the One-Eyed homepage or IFC.com!
