MGM Takes a Trip To 'The Woods'
MGM has in recent years started to crank up the horror, but in a lot of ways have also abandoned the quality of upper echelon films they used to produce (I mean, Black Christmas? C?mon!). The good news is that the people at MGM are apparently aware of their woes and sat down to figure out a way to bring back the quality of their studio classics and combine it with the gut wrenching effluence of their more recent films. And you know what they came up with? Getting Joss ?Like a good wine, I only get better with age? Whedon and Drew ?Hi, you might remember me from penning such inconceivably awesome things as Cloverfield and Lost? Goddard together on a project. Yes, slap yourself because you?re not dreaming! Whedon and Goddard have teamed to write a horror/thriller for MGM entitled Cabin in the Woods, which besides being undoubtedly awesome will also be the latter of the pair?s directorial debut. Wanna get even more pumped about this? Um? yeah, MGM as of today has slated the project for release one week before Saw VI on October 23rd, 2009! It?s gonna be the best Shock-tober ever! While the film is currently said to be in production, no cast has been announced ? but stay tuned, the project seems to be on the cusp of a tell-all.
