We're up at the Rue Morgue Festival of Fear this weekend, scoring interviews with your favorite horror stars (keep checking back us, we'll have these up soon) and generally spreading the good word of FEARnet at our booth and wherever we go in this very cool city of Toronto. Now, like any horror con, Rue Morgue's got it's share of crazy promotion of the latest films, DVDs, and merchandise. But our favorite this weekend, and one of the best we've seen in recent months, was also one of the simplest--a young woman walking around the convention floor with a silver serving tray, on which sat a human brain. Sure that ol' organ was fake (though we like to think otherwise), but it got us to slow down from our usual mad dash through the con floor long enough to see her tray was also full of flyers for The Butcher Shop, a collective of some of Canadas's top makeup effects artists, whose booth displayed even more brains, as well eyeballs and entire heads. Well done, Butcher Shop--we here at FEARnet salute your macabre marketing efforts!
