While in Toronto headlining the guest list for this weekend's Rue Morgue Festival of Fear, legendary horror filmmaker Wes Craven shared his opinion of the latest casting rumor for the upcoming remake of his landmark A Nightmare on Elm Street. When asked what he thought about Oscar winner Billy Bob Thornton possibly taking over the role of Freddy Krueger from Robert Englund, Craven replied that Thornton would make an excellent choice for the super-slasher, and that if he were making the film, he probably wouldn't look much further than the Bad Santa star. Granted, Craven prefaced his remarks by appearing uncertain as to whether the film would actually be a prequel or a remake, but was so praising of Thornton that one wonders if the veteran director knows more than he's letting on... Keep checking back with us for the latest on the film, and for our upcoming exclusive video interview with Craven!
