It?s true! According to Variety (and God help them if they?re lying) Ghostbusters 3 has been announced, and has signed a couple of awesome writers to make that sun?bitchuva movie that's been baiting fan boys all over the planet (namely, me) for the past two decades or so! Yes!!! Best. Friday. Ever. The original cast is all expected to return and in an interview that popped up online yesterday from E! News, Dan Aykroyd said he?d like to see Seth Rogen and Judd Apatow get involved somehow as well. For those of you that don?t know, it was speculated via internet chatter that the third adventure for Ray Parker Jr.?s favorite specter-busting foursome might bring the 40 Year Old Virgin crew (Steve Carell, Rogen, Paul Rudd, and Romany ?Why Aren?t You In More Movies, You Wonderful Man? Malco) to the screen as the titular squadron, but now it seems we?ll get the real deal! Awesome! The Office scribes Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg (who just happen to be coming off a fresh collaboration with Harold ?Egon? Ramis in the form of the Michael Cera/Jack Black starrer Year One). Can I say it once more? Awesome!! Not much else is known except that the screenplay is apparently being written as we speak. In the mean time, fans will be treated to Ghostbusters: The Video Game this fall while they wait for the film to get started.
