Val Kilmer Lets Off Some 'Steam'
Looks like Val Kilmer has cooked up another hair brained scheme. That?s right, according to the Hollywood Reporter, the borderline insane thesp of Willow fame (and God knows not many can say that) has signed on to play a maniac (go figure) in Philippe Martinez?s The Steam Experiment. Kilmer joins the likes of Eric Roberts, Megan Brown, Patrick Muldoon, and Armand Assante for the indie suspense thriller which revolves around six people trapped and terrorized in an urban Turkish bathhouse (ummm?). Kilmer will play the captor, a former university professor, who overheats his hostages to prove that humans will devolve into chaos under the pressures of global warming. He tells a detective that their location will be revealed if his hypothesis is printed as the local paper's front-page headline. As temperatures rise, the six very desperate detainees (the likes of which include a former pro football player, a former actress, a nurse, a waitress, a restaurateur, and a writer) must fight for survival. Sounds totally insane ? not much unlike ol? Valerie Kilmer himself. The screenplay was penned by Rob Malkani and production is currently under way in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
