James Russo and Tracy Coogan Got 'Wood'
Wondering what James Russo has been up to? No? Well fortunately for you we?ve just received word about Dark Woods, an upcoming mystery-horror flick, which will star Famous James Russo (The Ninth Gate, Open Range) and Fangoria Chainsaw Award Winner Tracy Coogan (Zombie Honeymoon). Dark Woods, scripted by John Muscarnero and directed by Michael Escobedo, focuses on ?a couple who moves to a secluded cabin in the woods to cope with a terminal illness of the wife. As the wife's condition drags her deeper into dementia and darkness, the husband's friendship with a local teenage girl takes a dangerous and obsessive turn?. Oh boy! I smell scandal! Yep, nothing scarier than scandal. Either way, the film is apparently based on a true story and is said to have the feel of ?Roman Polanski's Repulsion, the works of David Lynch and Michael Haneke, or the 1969 French classic The Swimming Pool/La Piscine? (Good Lord, this thing is all over the place). Woods plans to start production next month in the Los Angeles area (which I think we all know is quite wooded).
