Moby Dick Gets His Scare On
Universal has gotten its hands on the property that will allow them to produce a ?reimagining? of the Herman Melville classic Moby Dick ? and, according to Variety, Timur Bekmambetov (the man behind the Night Watch films and this summer?s Wanted) has already been signed to direct. Collaborating with Bekmambetov will be the scribes of the Moby screenplay Adam Cooper and Bill Collage. Apparently Uni paid these guys big time for their concept which reveres Melville?s source text but gives the story an entirely different spin with what?s being described as a ?graphic novel style structure.? This sounds like it could be interesting and it also promises to be pretty gory considering the past work of director Bekmambetov. I guess only time will tell. Stay tuned.
