Spooky kids the world over will get a chance to spin burning windmills all night long (or at least for around six hours) to a veritable legion of Medieval hotties at this year's Dracula's Ball – the annual Mecca for all things Goth, and one of the biggest dark-themed media events ever staged. Organizers have announced the music lineup for the Philadelphia festival – held this year not on the usual Halloween, but on November 1st & 2nd (marking the traditional Day of the Dead), and headlined by Gothic girl-group Medieaval Baebes. The whole Middle-ages theme will also spill over into a “Medieval Lounge,” with DJs spinning authentic old-world madrigals and their modern electronic counterparts.
If the whole idea of a half-dozen curvaceous cuties gyrating and crooning spooky harmonies is just too freakin' hot for you (don't believe us, check out the photo), you can get down and filthy with industrial creepoziods Zombie Girl. For those of you who prefer to party like it's 1987, the show will climax with a dramatic appearance by a certain fellow named Gerard McMann.
Right about now you're saying “Who the hell is that?”
Here's a hint: remember the song “Cry Little Sister” from the opening of The Lost Boys?
Yup, that's the one, and it's an anthem that's been covered by countless black eyeliner-clad acts in the past twenty years. Now that you've got it stuck in your head for a day or two (you're welcome), you might want to know that McMann will be performing that very tune at the stroke of midnight on Sunday Nov. 2. If you ever fancied yourself a Jason Patric or Jami Gertz-a-like wandering the boardwalk by night to the strains of this song, now's your chance to get your '80s vamp on again.
