Guillermo Del Toro Continues His Global Takeover!!
Despite the fact that Guillermo Del Toro is supposedly booked until 2017 making movies, he’s still finding time to get work done on other ventures. According to Variety, the Pan’s Labyrinth director has inked a publishing deal to pen a trilogy of vampire thrillers with writer Chuck Hogan. The first book, The Strain, hits bookstores next summer and will feature an invasion of New York City by a vampiric virus. The tale will expand in the subsequent book by tracing the roots of the vampiric race (sure you don’t want to make ‘em mutants, boys?) back to its Old Testament origins.
Fortunately for us, that means that either A.) it will be inspired by Dracula 2000 or B.) religious yahoos will try to stop this from being published! Hooray for people who are so blinded by their own set of two-billion-year-old beliefs that they won’t let a book be published!
