This weekend at Comic-Con Baltimore we had the good fortune of running into Kevin Grevioux. Besides playing the monstrous Raze in the first two Underworld films (as well as reprising the role for the prequel, due out in theaters this January) Grevioux stands as the creator of the entire Underworld franchise altogether (and yes, you can thank him later)!!  Not awesome enough for you yet?  Okay, how about this?  Despite his busy film career, Grevioux has also had time to find success with a career in comics.  ZMD: Zombies of Mass Destruction, a title he created and currently writes for, is an extremely exciting title and definitely worth your precious time.  Don’t believe us?  Just ask Benderspink Media – they optioned the property for a film adapt in July.  Check out our quick chat with this industry firestarter below…

At this point, how is the prequel matching what you thought it would be?

There’s the vision you have in your head and the one that’s actually put on paper and then on celluloid, but it matches up pretty well.  Of course there are some differences.  I wasn’t involved in the writing of this one, but it looks to continue with what the first movie established, and it’s going to be really good.

What will draw fans to this that differs from the first two?

I think you’ll get the real theme of the first film, which was a love story, and that will hit home even more on this third film.

And is that helped by the new lead actress, Rhona Mitra?

I think she brings a different energy, not better, not worse.  But Rhona is an amazing actress, she has amazing energy.
