John Arcudi Deems Us Honorary Members of the 'B.P.R.D.'!!
Mignola and Del Toro not puttin’ out enough Hellboy for ya? Don’t worry because writer John Arcudi has got just the thing for ya. Arcudi writes the Hellboy spin-off series B.P.R.D. (“Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense” – which you might recall as the place that writes out all of Big Red’s paychecks) which delves into more of Ape Sapien and company’s adventures in the mythic and macabre. This weekend we had a very special opportunity at Comic-Con Baltimore to chat with John about B.P.R.D. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
What’s new?
We’re just doing more BPRD stuff. After that an unnamed 6-issue series that will wrap up the arc done by “The Warning”, so that’ll be sixteen issues. It’ll be one big arc.
Can you talk about that story, what it will involve?
It’s hard to talk about that story without giving too much away. “The Black Goddess” brings the whole storyline to a head, and the follow-up is the real big cataclysmic change to the whole nature of the book.
And when will the follow up launch?
“Black Goddess” comes out in January, and I think the follow-up won’t come until next January, because there’s going to be a gap between them.
