Vampire mania has begun and thus far is showing no signs of stopping.  With the first Twilight film eyeing up some big box-office numbers for its November debut, Stephenie Meyer’s most recent novel in the Twilight saga (entitled Breaking Dawn) selling like hotcakes this summer, True Blood becoming the first new fall TV series to get picked up for a second season, and Guillermo Del Toro inking a deal for a vampire book series of his own, there’s certainly a lot out right now (or the release of which is impending) to sink your fangs into.  So why not one more?  Well, Top Cow Comics sent out a press release yesterday for a vampire series of their own that’ll launch in December.  Impaler, written by William Harms and drawn by British newcomer Matt Timson, sets itself in New York City as an unspeakable evil is loose upon the city.  The people’s only hope lies in Vlad Tepes, the real-life historical inspiration for the vampire legend, Dracula.  Ol’ Vlad the Impaler arrives to defend the city from the ever-growing vampire horde, but how much can one man do against an army of thousands?  Sounds cool, right?  Top Cow was also kind enough to send over the cover art so check that out below…
