Hey there FEARheads.  As you know, we here at the Net have the widest selection of free horror movies on the information super highway.  But we’re not just limited to our original web series like 30 Days of Night: Dust to Dust or classic horror features like The Devil’s Rejects or Near Dark.  We’ve also got a nice selection of independent shorts.  I know, I know… why should you care about independent shorts when you can watch Devil’s Rejects?  Well, shorts are the seeds from which tomorrow’s Rob Zombie and Guillermo Del Toro’s careers are spawned.  George Lucas’ feature debut THX 1138 was first made as the short Electronic Labyrinth THX 1138 4EB and look what came of that.  Besides the incredible vision of dystopian future that was THX 1138, it also went on to help Lucas secure money for and eventually make Star Wars.

While filmmaker Gabriele Albanesi certainly has not yet achieved Lucas’ status, his film The Last House in the Woods is an incredible horror picture and totally worth seeing.  Unfortunately you won’t be able to own it until October 14th (at which point you should immediately head to your local video retailer or Lionsgateshop.com and pick it up), but right now you can watch one of Albanesi’s first films, the short L’Armadio.  It’s incredibly cool, and it’s definitely awesome to see how Albanesi has tailored his filmmaking chops from one picture to the next.  So don’t miss your chance to see the work of the next great horror filmmaker before anyone else does… watch L’Armadio now on FEARnet.  And be sure to pick up The Last House in the Woods on October 14th from Ghost House Underground and Lionsgate Films.
