We just got news from the Sitges 2008 Awards and it looks like two horror-thrillers are taking home the…well whatever the hell “the prize” is in Spanish, I guess. Surveillance, directed by Jennifer Lynch, daughter of fellow director, David “crazy mo-fo” Lynch, and starring Bill Pullman, won Best Motion Picture. And while the jury kept a (ahem) watchful eye on Surveillance, the audience actually chose Blindness, directed by Fernando Meirelles for the Best Motion Picture Audience Award. Blindness’ Tule Peak took home the award for Best Production Design. More after the jump...
Also this year, Lucky McKee’s Red got some attention for Best Actor Brian Cox while the award for Best Cinematography went to Angus Hudson for the horror-thriller The Broken starring Lena Headey.
