One of the more interesting projects with a slated release for late this year is John Hillcoat’s adaptation of the Cormac McCarthy novel The Road. This film looks extremely bleak which is a rare studio bet now-a-days, I guess the adapt of McCarthy’s No Country For Old Men winning 47 Oscars might’ve had something to do with it. The unfortunate news here is that, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the thriller’s release has been pushed back from November 14th to a yet to be announced date in December – and possibly just straight up out of ’08 all together. They’re saying that the suits are set to meet The Road's producers this Thursday to discuss a timeline. This is definitely saddening news but the remaining question is if the movie gets moved to ’09, will they move it to late ’09 for a possible Oscar bid? I don’t know, I just don’t know… When do you think we’ll be seeing The Road?
