'Kill Your Darlings' Set to Make Murder Hip Again

Have you recently found yourself watching From Hell with Johnny Depp and saying to yourself, “Man this movie would be soooo much better if it took place at the birth of the Beat Generation and starred a bunch of authors responsible for writing the seminal works of said movement”?  If you responded ‘yes’ to that very specific and very unlikely train of thought then you’ll want to know the name Christine Vachon.  According to Variety, the Killer Films head Vachon has snatched up the rights for the spec script Kill Your Darlings.  The film, scripted by John Krokidas (who’ll direct the film as well) and Austin Bunn, involves a 1944 murder that brought together a young Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac and William Burroughs – three men responsible for the Beatnik movement.  "I fell in love with this when I read it," enthused Vachon about the script. "It's a fantastic opportunity to explore the birth of the Beats through this little known and shocking crime."  Well Christine, if it’s anywhere near as insane as Allen Ginsberg was, we might be in for a horror classic!
