Big News For 'The Avengers'
I’m just gonna come out with it… Robert Downey Jr. is signed on to play Tony Stark/Iron Man in The Avengers movie. Okay, start losing your mind… But in all seriousness, Marvel has announced that Downey Jr. as well as the newly recast Don Cheadle in the role of Jim Rhodes and Iron Man director/Happy Hogan Jon Favreau will all be seen in the upcoming Avengers movie adaptation. There’s been much speculation about what heroes will make their way into the film and whether the heroes with previous movies will be portrayed by the stars of their respective franchises – and now we’ve got confirmation. This news comes after Gale Anne Hurd hinting yesterday that we may see Edward Norton reprise Bruce Banner/The Hulk in The Avengers film – a casting note that is NOT confirmed. Now with this I bet we’re on the cusp of an avalanche of news. Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
