Well, he might be… but that I cannot prove. What I can prove is that M. Night is ready to go forward on the first of a three-film deal that falls under his "Night Chronicles" banner. Shyamalan, who is set to produce three genre films over the next three years, has tapped Quarantine filmmakers/brothers John Erick Dowdle and Drew Dowdle to helm the project, titled Devil, with Brian Nelson (Hard Candy, 30 Days of Night) on scribe duties. Hmmm… Okay, I’ll take that combo. While an M. Night fan I am not, I am HUGE fan of Brian Nelson’s work in the genre and I think the Dowdles are definitely some exciting young guys ready to get on set and make stuff happen. No word yet on what Devil is actually about, but the article in Variety from which this announcement stems says it’s a "supernatural thriller...based on an original story by Shyamalan." I think the only thing left to say about that is "What a twist!" Devil which is eyeing up a PG-13 rating will head into production next year.
