Metal's New Animated Hero: Meet the Bastard!
Up-and-coming Florida metal band Black Tide decided to take a unique approach to promoting their epic single “Warriors of Time” from their debut album Light from Above – by launching a weekly six-part animated animated series entitled Bastard vs. Bots.
The six brief installments pivot around the gory adventures of “The Bastard,” whom the band describes as “the living embodiment of metal music.” Dressed for battle in a variety of different time periods (so far including the age of Vikings and the Wild West) and brandishing an arsenal of badass weaponry, the warrior combats robot armies of the future, battling conformity wherever he encounters it and unleashing “The undying spirit of true metal.”
The videos will air weekly on sites like UGO and Imeem, and each segment will be accompanied by tour footage and interviews with members of the band. Here's a peek at episode 1:
