Hideo Nakata Has Entered the 'Chatroom'
Director Hideo Nakata – best known for directing Ringu, its bastardized American remake sequel The Ring 2, and a film with pretty much the same plot as the first two, Dark Water – has found a partner in rookie sales company WestEnd Films for the upcoming psychological thriller Chatroom. According to Variety, the film centers on a… chatroom… where teens encourage each other’s destructive behavior. The film, written by Cannes Camera d’Or winner Enda Walsh (adapted from his own stage play), marks the first original English language feature for Nakata. Good luck Hideo – scare us half to death! But no word yet on when we can expect to enter his Chatroom.
