Not One but Two '2001 Maniacs' Sequels?!

Now we?ve all been waiting and waiting and waiting for the sequel to 2001 Maniacs like rabid dogs ? but news has just hit that the wait could be worth it. Yes, because according to Variety the fan favorite is not only finally on its way to delivering the sequel, aptly titled 2001 Maniacs: Beverly Hellbillys, but it?s going for a trilogy! That?s right, 2001 Maniacs: The Hillbillys Have Eyes and Beverly Hellbillys have been acquired by IM Global Home Entertainment for distribution. Tim Sullivan is returning to write and direct both the sequels, which will star Robert Englund, reprising his role of the mayor. No word yet on when we can expect these two but you can?t argue with progress.
