Be it Krug and his gang of kidnapping, raping killers or a vengeful chainsaw-wielding, shotgun-firing father, Wes Craven’s 1972 The Last House on the Left had something for everyone and certainly earned its reputation as one of the most shocking horror films ever created. Today though, killer gangs and chainsaws are all the norm, often only small elements in the pornier of today’s torture films. But despite our immunity to the sickest facets of the genre, the fact remains that Last House on the Left is a pretty gosh darn sick flick. And in these days of endless remakes and drivel (Joyride 2, anyone?) it never hurts to revisit a classic! Fortunately, the guys at DVD Drive-In are reporting that on February 24th, MGM plans to release a brand-spankin’-new Collector’s Edition DVD of Last House with tons of extras for just $19.99. Hit the jump for DVD extra details.
