Germaniacs rejoice! Industrial metal gods Rammstein, whose monolithic riffs, thunderous beats and booming vocals made them superstars in their native Deutschland and cult heroes everywhere else – and whose songs have graced movies like XXX and Lost Highway – are headed back to the studio to complete their next album, the long awaited follow-up to their 2005 release Rosenrot.
According to the band’s official newsletter, the temporarily-titled Album 6 is “going forward full steam ahead” as band members Richard Z. Kruspe and Paul Landers met with the production team this week to oversee recording of rhythm tracks by drummer Christoph “Doom” Schneider.
Full session recording is scheduled to begin early next week in San Francisco, presumably with lead vocalist Till Lindemann and keyboardist Christian “Flake” Lorenz joining up as well.
More updates coming soon, so stay tuned!
