A month or two ago Danny Boyle sat down to talk about what the future would hold for the 28 Days Later franchise he created. Boyle said he had what he thought to be a stellar idea for the sequel and even hinted that he may direct. Hopes were dashed when, weeks later, a few sites leaked news that The Cottage helmer Paul Andrew Williams was set to direct. But now SciFi Wire has had the chance to attend a press junket for creator Boyle’s latest flick Slumdog Millionaire, at which the director again this time more concretely hinted that he could direct the zombie sequel. When asked about whether his involvement in the film will entail helming duties, Boyle was short-winded but hopeful: "I'd certainly like to. I feel the idea is quite a strong idea, and it could well involve directing it. Yeah, absolutely." There you have it, horror fans start crossin’ those fingers and prayin’ for the return of ol' Danny boy!!
