After a lengthy tour promoting their sophomore album Unsaved and the completion of their second DVD The Dark Hole Sessions Vol. 2, the crazed and evil minds of industrial-rockers Deadstar Assembly are finally putting the finishing touches on their long awaited third full-length release, and the band unloaded a pile of details on their MySpace about the new album Coat of Arms.

Born out of various jam sessions on tour, the new tracks represent a new evolutionary step for the band, who first made a name for themselves touring with Wednesday 13 and The Birthday Massacre. ?If you threw our first CD and Unsaved into a blender you would have Coat Of Arms,? explains lead singer Dearborn on the band's blog. ?We've exploited what was great about those two records and molded them into one.?

The band members began by working out the song ideas individually, and once the team regrouped for the first recording session, Dearborn says the album practically wrote itself. ?It was almost effortless,? he admits. ?It came together in less than 6 months, which is light speed for us. Unsaved was almost a four year project... we were still very young and didn't really know how to write a record together.?

In those six months, the band has done a track-by-track demo of the album, and kept to their tradition of letting fans in on every step of the recording process, offering previews of several songs and behind-the-scenes studio footage. ?The fans have been pivotal in the albums development,? Dearborn says. ?Their response and reaction is really helping us evolve and perhaps put forth our best work.?

See for yourself and check out some heavy session demos.
