Looks like Steven Spielberg is looking to return to his Duel/Jaws days. The Spielberg-headed Dreamworks is fancying their most recent acquisition, the Peter Morgan-scripted ghost story Hereafter, as a potential starring vehicle for that grisly old lothario Clint Eastwood. According to Variety, Dreamworks recently snagged the project from its former home Paramount Pictures as part of the studios’ separation pact. The plot is still on the hush-hush but it’s described as in the vein of The Sixth Sense. This is normally where I’d make my joke about how it most likely has the same exact plot as The Sixth Sense but I can’t bring myself to cast my icy cynicism upon Steven “Thank You For My Childhood” Spielberg and Clint “Damn, you’re badass in The Good, The Bad and The Ugly” Eastwood. Look for Hereafter in, possibly, late ‘09/early 2010.
