Yippee! 'Twilight' For the Next Four Years...

Excuse the hint of disdain in my voice, I’m just trying to stomach the idea that I’ll be writing Twilight news stories for the rest of my natural life.  Because while a Twilight sequel has already been announced, the enormous amount of buzz surrounding the impending release of the first film has made Summit Entertainment move to acquire the next THREE novels in the Stephenie Meyer-penned series.  According to The Hollywood Reporter, Twilight screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg has been hired for the next two films, New Moon and Eclipse, while a writer-to-be-named will work on the fourth film, Breaking Dawn (the book on which it will be based, the latest in the series, was just released this past summer).  Future installments will see a love triangle develop among Bella, Edward and werewolf-to-be Jacob Black.  Uh-oh teen hearts are a breaking… far fewer, however, than the casualties at last week’s Robert Pattinson book-store-signing-come-Beatles-inspired-tween-blood-bath-riot.  Man, if that kind of stuff is happening now, what will it escalate to by film four?
