Aaron Eckhart – who's made his name starring in indie dramedies like Thank You For Smoking, In the Company of Men, and Towelhead – will be putting his newfound Dark Knight clout to use in the sci-fi actioner Battle: Los Angeles. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Eckhart will take the central role in the thriller, which revolves around a Marine platoon in the battle on the streets of Los Angeles against an alien invasion. Battle: Los Angeles, once known under the guise of Starship Troopers 4: Why Do We Keep Making These?, was written by Chris Bertolini and plans to put Jonathan Liebesman at the helm. No start date has been secured for the shoot yet.
