Now that Norway's hell-bent extreme metal wizards Satyricon have been raking in raves throughout Europe for their epic and eeeeeevil new album Age of Nero, the band has just signed a deal with Koch records to bring the album to North America on January 13th, followed by a massive supporting tour to begin that same week.
Described by frontman Satyr as “a nod toward the hedonism of the late Roman empire,” the band's seventh full-length release was written in a remote cabin in the Norwegian wilderness (naturally), but recorded in Los Angeles in studios like Sound City (where Metallica and Slayer previously laid down tracks for Death Magnetic), produced by Satyr and mixed by Joe Baresi (producer for Tool and Queens of the Stone Age).
Can't wait? We're here to help. Look below for the new video for their not-at-all-Gothic-sounding single, “Black Crow on a Tombstone.”
