Congratulations to Stan Lee!
Well it only took eight years but President George W. Bush has finally done something worthwhile… he’s awarded comic legend Stan Lee with the National Medal of Arts and the National Humanities Medal. The ceremony took place at the White House on Tuesday where old Stanny was to accept the prestigious honor, presented by G Dubs himself. The award to artists and arts patrons is billed as the highest bestowed by the US government. "I feel very honored, very surprised," Lee said. "When I first got the phone call, I thought it was a gag. I'd heard of it but didn't know much about it. I'd heard of the NEA. But it was just a name." Good work, Stan – it's well deserved. The only thing slightly salty about this is that George Bush got to meet Stan before me. I guess I'll just have to throw that onto my large queue of grievances -- a list I can shortly burn in January.
