After an agonizingly long delay due to some conflicts with the studio, the most excellent soundtrack to Danny Boyle’s ultra-gloomy sci-fi epic Sunshine has at last seen the digital light of day (feel free to insert your fave goofy sun-related metaphor here) on iTunes.
The album features the music of electro-beat wizards Underworld (who adapted tracks like “Jelly Blue” and “Loads of Birds” for the film) and the avant-garde compositions of composer John Murphy (who also scored much of Boyle’s 28 Days Later) as well as the extremely cool closing credits track “Avenue of Hope” from Manchester indie-rockers I Am Kloot.
Track listing is as follows:
John Murphy – Welcome to Icarus II
I Am Kloot – Avenue of Hope
Underworld – Capa's Last Transmission Home
John Murphy – Kanada's Death, Pt.
