After playing to sold-out arenas all over the world, those masked marauders of metal better known as Slipknot have just posted the first round of dates for their USA tour to promote chart-busting new album All Hope Is Gone (which, you may recall, we quite rightly documented back in August). The tour begins on January 23rd and will cover 33 cities across the US, including their first-ever appearance at New York's Madison Square Garden.
"2009 is the 10 year anniversary of the world's first taste of this band,? says frontman Corey Taylor in the band's press release. ?To celebrate we are coming back out with a killer tour, a couple great bands and the same ferocity with which we attack life. We want all of our maggots to come and celebrate with us, because if it wasn't for you we wouldn't have been here for 10 years. Get ready for chaos!"
Supporting bands include fellow Roadrunner artists Trivium, and apparently alt-rockers Coheed and Cambria will also be supporting... and no, that's not a misprint.
Tickets go on sale proper on December 6th, but fans who participated in the album's iTunes presale promotion will get a jump on the action, with a chance to order on the 3rd. Check out the new tour site to find a show near you... but don't screw around too long, 'cuz the primo tickets are going to blow out before you know it.
