The film which probably still owns the greatest line in horror history not said by Bruce Campbell – “I came here to chew bubblegum and kick ass… and I’m all out of bubble gum” – will get the remake treatment. (That treatment Hollywood’s been dishing out like a middle school guidance counselor writing Adderall prescriptions). According to The Hollywood Reporter, Universal Studios and Strike Entertainment have acquired the rights to John Carpenter’s 1988 alien splatterfest They Live. The plot of the original film revolved around a down-on-his-luck construction worker who finds a pair of glasses that let him see aliens walking among us and controlling humanity. It also featured one of the most pointless buddy-on-buddy fist fights of all time (check it out below) – and God almighty did we love it for that. No writer is yet attached.
