We recently scooped you on the latest Vegas adventure from Puscifer, the mad demon-child of Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan, but what we didn’t know at the time was that he was also crafting evil plans for the future of his other side project, A Perfect Circle.
Today the folks at Blabbermouth reported that Maynard and APC guitarist Billy Howerdel (who recently released the debut album from his own side project Ashes Divide) are working on new material – the first since the band went on informal hiatus four years ago.
The planned tunes may not represent an entire album’s worth, however… the band might limit things to a couple of singles for the time being. “I doubt if we'll do any touring or, you know, do a full album,” Maynard told The Pulse of Radio. “We might do some one-off shows here and there if the timing's right and it seems like a good vibe and a smart thing to do. But most likely we'll just kind of concentrate on, you know, one or two songs at a time, rather than investing all the time and money and effort into making those plastic discs that no one cares about anymore."
And what about Tool, you ask? Well, according to Keenan they’ve still got some creativity left in their tank, and they plan to start work on a new album sometime next year.
