Has Summit Entertainment wrangled a replacement for Catherine Hardwicke on the Twilight sequel, New Moon, already? No. Actually, according to Deadline Hollywood, they've wrangled one for New Moon AND it's sequel, Eclipse. What's even more interesting is that the article claims that as of now there is the possibility of sequels being shot back-to-back. Is this the kind of ambitious production schedule that turned off Hardwicke? No real way to tell but that doesn't matter much now because it looks like someone's already filled Hardwicke's spot before her mattress went cold. Weitz seems like a good choice with experience in both the tween (American Pie) and the inbetween (The Golden Compass). But let's not count our ducks before they hatch, eh?
