Apparently Summit Entertainment is taking a page out of the Saw playbook because they’ve already set a date for New Moon, the second film in the Twilight franchise only a few weeks after Twilights release!! So when will According to Variety, New Moon will open up “this time, next year” (i.e. November 20th 2009 – just a day difference from when this year’s installment hit). New Moon is gonna face tough competition since the highly anticipated Guy Ritchie-directed, Robert Downey Jr.-starring Sherlock Holmes will make its debut the same day. Things should be interesting at the box-office next Thanksgiving. But that’s not the only change for New Moon…
According to MTV News Taylor Lautner will not be returning to the role of Jacob Black in New Moon. Instead Summit is eyeing up actor Michael Copon to take over the role of the newer, older, stronger Jacob Black – who becomes a pretty central character in the series. MTV is also reporting that Prince Caspian himself Ben Barnes is also in search of some Twilight love. Barnes will be campaigning for the role of Aro, a mind-reading vampire whose New Moon encounter with Edward and Bella helps shape their destiny together. Damn, and we thought Robert Pattinson knew how to make teen-girls freak out.
