Ahh, 2008. You brought forth countless theatrical releases of sub par horror films and the incrementally mounting anticipation of 2009 films including remakes of classics like Friday the 13th and Hellraiser. And with all this talk of remakes and big budget pictures, it’s often easy for independent horror filmmakers to get lost in the shuffle. Fortunately, 2008 also brought forth something to truly smile on: dedication of independent horror filmmakers, particularly those like Eric Stanze and his Wicked Pixel Cinema crew who work---rather slave---daily to produce truly original genre films like their latest, Ratline!

Since it’s that week between Christmas and New Year’s Day where all you really want to do is sit back and be entertained by the holiday gods that bring you post-holiday deals, “best of/worst of” lists of the year past and trashy TV, we’re suggesting you head over to FEARnet’s Surviving Cinema blog where Stanze, writer/director/producer/actor/co-owner of Wicked Pixel Cinema has been blogging his arse off to bring you the latest trials and tribulations of an independent working director. Check out more on Ratline--starring WPC recurring actress, Emily Haack (Scrapbook) and WPC writer/actor Jason Christ (Deadwood Park)—in our Surviving Cinema blog now!
