Fate of '25/8' and 'The Strangers 2'?

While trade news reporting that Relativity Media bought Rogue Pictures from Universal Studios for $150 million seems like a bunch of studio mumbo-jumbo, you’ll be interested to know that the future of some of the most anticipated genre films rest in this transactions hands since Rogue Pictures are the folks responsible for The Strangers which took in a whopping $53 million at the box office. But what about The Strangers 2 which now has a completed script and is set for release in 2010? What about Wes Craven’s 25/8? What about 30 other genre related titles currently in different stages of production but set to release from Rogue Pictures?

According to Variety.com, Relativity plans to enhance the horror releases they inherit from Rogue Pictures. Relativity Media CEO Ryan Kayanaugh says, Rogue has had "success in the horror space in particular, which is something we can expand upon.” Looking good! Let’s hope they still say that after the release of their first post-sale film, David Goyer’s The Unborn starring Odette Yustman, releasing this weekend!
