Tricky Dick and Nuclear War in New 'Watchmen' Trailer!
A new Japanese Watchmen trailer has been released on YouTube and boy does it pack tons of new footage. More interestingly is the fact that this unseen footage seems largely political, featuring vital signs of an impending nuclear war, some JFK and tons of Nixon. As you know, this is a much different approach to the superhero smashin’ action trailers/featurettes we’ve been seeing in the US as of late. It’s really no surprise though. Based on the number of people who watch American Idol and trek to the movie theaters each summer versus the number of people who vote in this country it’s pretty safe to say that action, explosions and pretty faces are much more of interest to most. Watch the trailer after the jump and tell us what you think; would Watchmen still be as highly anticipated and do as well with Middle America in theaters if Warner gave us a taste of politics with our superheroes?
