'Mutant Chronicles' Hits the Big Screen!
A while back we reported that Thomas “tough guy” Jane and Ron “living mutant” Perlman starrer Mutant Chronicles was acquired by SciFi channel and would NOT be getting a theatrical release. But today, we got an official press release reporting that Magnet Releasing will take those Mutants and give them the silver-screen showcase they deserve! According to the press release, Magnet acquired the US rights to Mutant Chronicles and will premiere the film on VOD on March 27th, 2009. And it looks like the VOD premiere will be followed by a limited theatrical release on Friday April 24th thanks to Magnet! As you recall, Mutant Chronicles is “set in 2701 on an unrecognizable Earth where a war is raging between four giant corporations who control the planet. Meanwhile, a mutant scourge threatens human extinction and a squad of soldiers, led by Mitch Hunter (Thomas Jane), attempt to save mankind and destroy the mutants. Looks like Mutant action isn’t too far away! Here we come April…
