Looks like Sam Raimi is planning to suck the life out of Spider-Man in his 4th installation of the film series—funny, I thought he accomplished that with Spider-Man 3, go figure--but it’s not exactly what you think! Apparently, Raimi had a chat with Empire Magazine and he spilled the beans about the next Spider-Man villain. While preliminary talks pegged The Lizard as the next villain, Raimi actually said, “I like it in the Marvel comics when Spider-Man fights Morbius," he said. "He's really cool. A vampire! I like that combination of superhero plus supernatural." If you’re not familiar with the Spiderman mythology, Morbius is actually Nobel-prize winning biochemist, Michael Morbius who attempted to cure his rare blood disease with an experimental vampire bat treatment. Instead of curing his disease, he actually ended up as a blood-thirsty vampire with all the powers of the undead! Vampires and Sam “30 Days of Night, 30 Days of Night: Blood Trails, 30 Days of Night: Dust to Dust” Raimi? This guy’s got a fetish and I’m just sayin’… we’re totally not complaining!
