Black Widow Casting News for 'Iron Man 2'!
As expected, Iron Man 2 is shaping up to be quite the who’s who of genre and pop culture icons. A while back, we reported that Sam Rockwell and the resurrected spirit of Mickey Rourke’s career were in negotiations to star in the blockbuster sequel as villains joining an already star-studded cast including the return of Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow. As of today, according to Variety.com, Emily Blunt may be joining the cast as Natasha Romanoff in Iron Man 2. Blunt has recently become quite the genre leading-lady with roles in the 2007 flick Wind Chill and the anticipated remake of The Wolf Man starring Benicio del Toro. With this role though, Blunt is rumored to play a Soviet spy who doubles as Black Widow, the “light on the clothing, heavy on the artillery” femme fatale and Iron Man nemesis. Iron Man 2 is due in theaters summer 2010.
