Holy Jupiter, Night Owl! It looks like Warner Bros. and Fox have finally put the Watchmen battle to rest after reaching some top secret settlement! The film, directed by Zack Snyder had its release jeopardized after Fox claimed to own copyright entitlement for a Watchmen film. This claim though, came quite inconveinently after Warner Bros. had already finished the film and blown a whole wad of 2009 tentpole cash making and marketing. Needless to say, the battle wasn't pretty and fans feared that the March 6th release date would long be delayed until the studios resolved the legal battle. According to HollywoodReporter.com the settlement has been reached, it looks like the theatrical release will not be delayed and that Fox will not even be a co-distributor or co-owner on the project. Though all terms will not be released, the settlement is said to include a "sizable cash payment to Fox and a percentage of the film's boxoffice." It's official folks, gear up to watch the Watchmen in theaters March 6th.
