It's a known fact that Vinnie Jones is a badass dude. Right now, he's facing a legal battle over a brutal bar fight that ended in three smashed faces--including his own. And just before that, he starred as the mysterious and menacing subway killer with a meat cleaver in last year's film adaptatoin of Clive Barker's Midnight Meat Train. He's played a ruthless thug and a merciless killer in countless films throughout the years and in Bog Bodies, which he completed last year, he should do no different as he battles an undead corpse. The film, directed by Brenden Foley, also stars The Descent's Nora-Jane Noone and is about a 2000 year-old murder victim who rises from the dead, wreaks havoc and exacts revenge while a hunter (Jones) and a few trusty helpers are tasked with sending him back to the grave. Over at Irish Film and Television Network (IFTN), they talked to Bog Bodies' producers Paul Valentine and Joe Condren who told them that U.S. distribution has been obtained by Lionsgate. After the jump, check out what they said and watch the trailer from Vinnie Jones' latest starrer, Bog Bodies!

"We have done a deal with Grindstone Entertainment Group who are releasing Bog Bodies through Lionsgate in early 2009," says Valentine. "Grindstone bought North American rights and it’s a fairly big US deal we did with them. It's a move in the right direction for our project. The dates that we have might change slightly, they have a slot for us to go out with their five horror films. Lionsgate have bought all rights for the film in North America so they can do what they want with it really, whether it is going to cinema release or straight to DVD we are not sure yet."
