Over at HollywoodReporter.com, they’ve discovered that Sony is delaying the release of Roland Emmerich’s (10,000 BC) apocalyptic mayhem movie, 2012! Starring Amanda Peet, John Cusack and Woody Harrelson, 2012 is about a researcher who leads a group of people in attempting to counteract the apocalyptic events that were predicted by the ancient Mayan calendar. The film was originally set to release as a summer tentpole, July 10, 2009 but has now been pushed back to November 13th, two weekends before the proven-lucrative Thanksgiving holiday. It’s always nice to fear the ever-looming end prior to stuffing your face with turkey and mashed potatoes; makes that 10,000 calorie day seem that much more inconsequential.
2012 also stars Thandie Newton, Danny Glover and Oliver Platt.
