'The Thing' Director Announced!
Finally, some concrete news about the long rumored and obviously expected follow-up to The Thing! Based on John W. Campbell Jr.’s short story, Who Goes There, the 1951 film The Thing From Another World as well as the 1982 John Carpenter’s The Thing remake have spawned a cult following and the incessant need for a remake or re-imagining (because that’s how things go these days). Variety.com has confirmed Bloody-Disgusting.com's report that Universal “will add a new chapter” which will heavily borrow from Campbell’s original short story and have handed over the re-imagining directorial reigns to commercial director Matthijs Van Heijningen. Battlestar Galactica executive producer, Ron Moore, has been tapped to write the script.
